With more than 300 acres of open space and hiking trails connected to North Cheyenne Canon Park and the Pike National Forest, the Stratton Open Space is a popular Colorado Springs area outdoor destination. Located on the western limits of Colorado Springs less than 3 miles from downtown Colorado Springs, Stratton Open Space was purchased by the city of Colorado Springs in 1998 to protect vegetation and wildlife habitat and provide trails and recreation opportunities for visitors.
