South of Carbondale, CO and northeast of Paonia, CO is the narrow lake of Paonia Reservoir along with the two campgrounds of Paonia State Park - Hawsapple Campground and Spruce Campground - along Muddy Creek just north of the reservoir. There are no hiking trails in this park and camping is the primary activity. This is a fee area.
