Mount Princeton Area Hiking
A short drive southwest of Buena Vista, CO is one of Colorado's most scenic and prominent 14ers: Mount Princeton (14,197ft elevation). Located in the Sawatch Range in the San Isabel National Forest - but not in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness - this is a popular area due to the famous hot springs. The Colorado Trail passes Mount Princeton on the eastern side while the Continental Divide Trail goes through the area further west. Along Chalk Creek Road to the south of the peak area a number of trailheads along the way up to Cottonwood Pass, passing the beautiful Chalk Cliffs, Agnes Vaille waterfall and more.
