Located 15 miles northwest of Golden, CO along Golden Gate Canyon Road is the expansive Golden Gate Canyon State Park. There are over 35 miles of hiking trails in the park - each named after an animal - from easy jaunts to challenging loops, including about 19 miles of multi-use trails for mountain bikers and horseback riders as well. In addition to the large network of hiking trails, there are two campgrounds - Reverend's Ridge Campground and Aspen Meadows Campground open from Memorial Day to early October - as well as cabins and yurts to reserve year-round. This park also attracts fishermen who may fish in the parks many streams or ponds. This is a fee area.
