CO-Cochetopa Hills Area Hiking

Colorado

The Cochetopa Hills are a ridge of upland hills connecting the southern Sawatch Range to the northern La Garita Mountains in the San Juan Mountains with a both (mostly) motorized and non-motorized trails. The Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail (that run concurrent in this area) follows the east-west ridgeline of these hills. Further south in the hills is Cochetopa pass - the word Cochetopa itself being the Ute Indian word for 'pass of the buffalo.'
