Centennial Cone Park

A short drive west along Clear Creek Canyon Road from Golden, CO will take you to Centennial Cone Park, a hiking area with a variety of loop options including a long 12-mile trail loop exploring the perimeter of the park. Views of Clear Creek and opportunities for wildlife viewing - including Elk - bring visitors to this area. Also note that on weekends, hiking and horseback riding is allowed on odd-numbered dates, while mountain bikers are allowed on even-numbered dates. Also note the season closure of the interior of the park and the Elk Range Trail from February 1 - June 15 each year to protect elk during their calving season and the entire park is closed December 1 - January 31 as a seasonal hunting closure.
