Located only a short drive southwest of Montrose, CO the Buzzard Gulch Trail System on Bureau of Land Management land provides miles of trails and loops for hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers alike. The landscape consists mainly of canyons and hills with pinyon/juniper vegetation leading towards the forested Uncompahgre Plateau to the west, the lower elevations of the area are around 6,200ft with trails leading to the Uncompahgre National Forest boundary at 8,000ft elevation.
